Homeless Student/Family Information
Important Information for Families
“Homeless” students
When so many people are experiencing hard economic times, it is very important that everyone is aware of the ways in which our tax dollars can help our neighbors and their children if they find themselves having to move out of their own homes and live with relatives. Families who are living “doubled up” or in motels/campgrounds or similar places not designed as permanent homes can be considered homeless, and have the following choices:
• The children can stay in our schools, even if the family is now living out of district.
• The children are eligible for free meals without submitting an income statement.
• In some cases, supplies needed for class can be purchased for them.
Anyone with questions about their status may call the building secretaries or Jon Pfau at the District Office (863-2539) for additional information. Your name and needs will be kept private.
