Minutes
September 5, 2007
6:30 p.m.
Call to Order:
Kelley Rockhold called the meeting to order at 6:30. There was 10 members present.
Reading and Approval:
The minutes were read and approved.

Fund-raising
BIC
Steve Cunningham reported about the purchase of tables or benches for the lounge area. Julie McGinnis would email Ms. Aldridge and get STUCO opinion on whether or not they would like tables or benches to use in the lounge are of the high school. Also discussion about new intercom system. Tabled till October meeting.
Steve reported that he would develop a Google group for Booster Club.
Old Business
Membership:
Lisa Cross stated that we had 40 family members and 19 business.
Scholarship:
Rhonda Robbins reported that she had talked to Peggy Craig and Mr. Beisel about developing scholarships. They stated it was up to Bears Boosters to come up with guidelines. Discussed how many to do and for how much. Decided to table till next meeting.
Teacher Appreciation:
Rhonda reported that pens were given to bus drivers, staff administration and going to hand out to Board members on September 10th.
Tailgate:
Decided to sell 150 hamburgers and 80 hot dogs. Tabled discussion to October meeting.
Business Appreciation:
Tabled to October meeting.
Homecoming:
Lisa moved that the Boosters have a float in the Homecoming Parade. Having a meeting at her house on September 19th at 6:30 to plan and build float. All Boosters invited.
Rhonda moved that we donate $100 to the Homecoming dance and two cash prizes to be given at the end of the dance. Students needs to be present to win.
Was brought up to throw lanyards, and bracelets during the Homecoming pep rally.
Tina Bates was looking into the cost of purchasing hand towels with Oskaloosa Bears printed on them to hand out during pep rally. Rhonda moved and Julie seconded to purchase 100 red and blue balloons from Harvey's to be released during the Homecoming football game when the players come out on the field.
T-Shirts:
Tina announced that 75 more t-shirts were ordered and would be on sale the night of September 14th at the football game.
Fence Cups:
Julie announced that we have put up two more signs. One more on the football fence, Bear Country, and one on the fence in front of the school, Home of the Bears. She said they were purchased with money from memberships, and donations from Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce and PTO.
Tina would put an ad in the paper thanking everyone.
New Business
Board Meeting:
Was announced that Boosters would be going to the Board meeting on Monday, September 10th to update the Board on what we have been doing and our plans for the year. Invited all members to come if they can.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
Next meeting will be October 3rd at 6:30 in the Commons area of the High School
