1. Call to order:
Kelley Rockhold called the meeting to order at 6:30. There was 10 members present.
2. Communications:
Lisa Cross reported that she would send out thank you's to the Chamber of Commerce and PTO for their contribution for the fence signs.
3. Officer Reports:
Presidents:
Kelley thanked everyone for a great job with Homecoming. The bonfire was a huge success. Thanks to Lisa for all her help with the float and Tammy Fowler for use of her truck and for driving.
Treasurer's:
No treasurer's report at this time.
4. Committee Reports:
Fund-raising:
Tina Bates and Tammy Fowler reported that they were going to hold a Holiday Open House at the school Saturday, December 1st as a fundraiser for the Booster Club. They have a little over 20 vendors and are looking to have 30 vendors. They are charging $30 for a booth and are asking for a door prize from the vendors to use for silent auction and door prizes. Plans are to have a concession stand and sell cinnamon rolls for breakfast and soup and chili for lunch. Gift wrapping will also be available.
5. Old Business:
Membership :
Lisa stated that we had a few more families and members are working on getting in touch with businesses. If you were at the September meeting and took businesses to get in touch with please have that information at the October 21st meeting. Planning on giving businesses a Bear mug and pen for their membership and handing them out in November as a thank you.
Scholarship:
Tabled to a later meeting.
Tailgate:
Decided to sell 150 hamburgers and 80 hot dogs. Serving a meal of a hot dog, hamburger, chips, tea or lemonade for a donation price of $3.00. Will start serving at 6:00 pm. Lisa will start getting in touch with Booster members to work concessions and outside for the tailgate. Also plan on having Fan Appreciation Night and giving away Teddy Grahams during halftime. Will also have hot chocolate and coffee for donations.
Business Appreciation:
Tabled until Basketball season.
Homecoming:
The winners of the prize money at the Homecoming dance were: Brandon Hawks and Jacob Dunn.
T-Shirts:
Tina announced that we had 27 t-shirts left and would sell them at the Tuesday night volleyball game on October 9th.
6. New Business:
Late Nite with the Bears:
Decided to hold a meeting on Sunday October 21st at 6:00 pm at Golden Pizza to make plans for the event.
7. Adjournment:
Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm
Next meeting will be October 21st at 6:00 pm at Golden Pizza in Oskaloosa, plans will be made for Late Nite with the Bears. Please come and share your thoughts and ideas, everyone welcome.
