The Lady Bears kicked off another exciting vb season last night at Valley Falls. The girls played well once the nervousness wore off and won both matches. Their next match is Tuesday at home against P. Ridge and McLouth. Thanks to the incredible crowd last night!!

Wooooooow! The Oskaloosa Lady Bears Volleyball team roared into action with some crazy good volleyball last night! The Lady Bears JV team took on Jackson Heights, winning in two - 25-7; 25-9. In the second match of the night against Valley Falls, they rallied to defeat the home team 25-18, 25-20. Way to go, Lady Bears!!!!

The next matches will be Tuesday, September 9th, at Oskie against McLouth and P. Ridge.


The Lady Bears had their first home matches of the season last night and played two very tough teams. The Bears played very well and improved their overall and league record to 4-0. The Lady Bears play in the Baldwin tournament on Saturday and their first match starts at 8:00 am!!

Last night our JV volleyball girls lost both hard fought matches with P. Ridge and McLouth. We opened our first home game playing P. Ridge, losing 13-25. We rallied back in the second game but just couldn't hang on and lost 24-26. In our second match of the night against McLouth, the Lady Bears lost 23-25, 15-25. The JV record is now 2-2.

We will be playing at the Maur Hill JV volleyball tournament at Atchison High School on Saturday. Games start at 8:30.


The volleyball team had a tournament in Baldwin on Saturday and took 2nd place in their bracket. They beat Bonner Springs, Baldwin, and Gardner. They lost to Paola, Wellsville, and Gardner.

Last night the girls had a triangular in Wathena winning both matches in two games. That improves their overall record to 9-3 and our league record to 6-0!! The girls play their next matches on Tuesday at home and it is Senior night so come out and support your Lady Bears!!

Tuesday night the Lady Bears traveled to Wathena, playing 2 matches with Doniphan West. In the first match of the night, the Lady Bears lost a close one in 3 games, 23-25, 25-11, 14-16. The girls were able to dig deep and rally in the second match to win in 3, 25-23, 13-25, 15-8!

The JV team is now 3-3. Our next action will be hosting a home quad, Monday, September 22nd. Come on out to support the Lady Bears, cheering them on to victory!


Last night the Lady Bears JV squad hosted a quad with Royal Valley, Holton, and Jackson Heights. They came out ready to play and won 2 hard fought games with Royal Valley 25-23; 25-21. The Lady Bears next faced Holton, playing very well, yet lost in 2, 19-25; 17-25. Our JV girls dominated the last game of the night against Jackson Heights, winning in 2, 25-8; 25-6!

The JV team is now 5-3. Come on out tonight to cheer for the Lady Bears as they host KCC and Immac, and to recongnize our Seniors for their time and dedication to Lady Bears volleyball. Way to go Lady Bears!!!


Last night was senior night for our 4 seniors on our team. They hosted a triangular with KCC and Immac. The girls won both matches in two games to put their record at 11-3 and their DVL record to 8-0. The girls have 3 DVL matches to go!

The Oskaloosa JV volleyball team made a trek to Jackson Heights Saturday to play in a tournament.  In our first games of in the morning, the girls faced P. Ridge splitting 25-23 and 16-25.  The Lady Bears next played Valley Falls, losing 22-25, 18-25 and finished up the morning playing Jackson Heights winning 25-14, 25-15. 

 Our record is now 4-4 (with a split decision against P. Ridge).  The JV girls' next matches will be next Tuesday at Horton.

The Lady Bears Varsity girls are on a quest to remain undefeated in the DVL and will be in action Tuesday night, traveling to Troy to take on Troy and Jackson Heights. 


The varsity vb team went to Troy last night and put two more wins on their record beating both Troy and Jackson Heights in two games. The ladies improve their record to 13-3 and their league record to 9-0. We only have two more league matches left in our season and the ladies are trying to have another undefeated league season so please come support your Lady Bears!

The varisty volleyball team went to Valley Falls Saturday to play in the Valley Falls Invitational and came home with 1st place winning all 5 matches! The girls played very hard all day. Their overall record is now 18-3 and our league record is 9-0. We have another league match tomorrow at Horton and then our last league match next Tuesday vs JCN.

The varsity vb team traveled to Horton last night and came back with two more wins. They are now 20-3 overall and 10-0 in DVL. The girls will be playing for the DVL championship on Tuesday at Immac against JCN. The match will start around 6:00 so please come support your lady bears and help them bring home another DVL championship!!

The varsity vb team went to the Atchison High tournament on Saturday and won their 2nd tournament of the season. The girls played very well all day and only had 6 girls to get the job done. Their overall record is now 26-3 and our DVL record is 10-0. The girls play JCN tomorrow night at Immac for the DVL championship. It should be a great match so please come support your Lady Bears!!

The Lady Bears JV team finished out their season by hosting a round robin this past Saturday. We began round robin play against Perry, coming out strong and winning in two solid games; 25-9, 25-22. The girls turned around to play McLouth, again winning in two straight games. After a short break the Lady Bears finished out the day playing JCN winning 25-23 and 25-19, and Valley Falls which they also won in two! The girls played some great volleyball, brought "home" FIRST place and added to their win column finishing the season 8-4. WAY TO GO LADY BEARS!

Good Luck to the Lady Bears Varsity as they take on Immac and JCN for the DVL League Championship. Come on out to see an exciting night of volleyball.

Nicole Rockhold was selected for the Topeka all area athlete of the week. On Saturday during our tournament she had 67 kills, 51 digs, and 12 blocks. Good job Nicole!!


The varsity volleyball team ended their 20 match winning streak last night dropping a match to JCN. The girls won their first match against Immac in 2 games and then were defeated by JCN in 2 games. The girls ended up with 2nd place in DVL this season with a record of 10-1. They have an overall record of 27-4. They have their DVL tournament on Saturday where they are seated 2nd and play their 1st match at 9:00 at P. Ridge.

The varsity vb team played in the DVL tournament this Saturday. The girls played hard all day playing 7 matches and leaving the tournament with a 2nd place finish. In the championship match our setter dove into the bleachers for a ball and hurt her knee. She tried to go back in 3 different times but it was just too badly hurt. She is questionable for this Saturday at sub-state. The girls have an overall record of 33-5 and are waiting for their seeding in the sub-state tourney for Saturday. The tournament will be held at P. Ridge.
