Selection Process For Prospective NHS Initiates

 

1.    Students with a G.P.A. of 3.4 or above will receive a letter notifying them of their candidacy. 

 

2.    To be considered further, students must return a letter of application and rŽsumŽ by the date stated in their letter.

 

3.    Data is gathered on the prospective initiates who turned in a letter of application and rŽsumŽ by the deadline and their candidacy is discussed and voted on by the faculty council.  Membership is extended to those receiving five votes.

 

4.    The council consists of 5 voting members of the high school faculty as well as one non-voting member, the NHS advisor.  The principal selects these members at the beginning of each school year.

 

5.    If chosen, new initiates will be informed by letter of their new status and of the requirements for completion of the initiation process.   The NHS advisor will also notify by letter those not chosen for membership.

 

6.    The Initiation Banquet is scheduled for Friday April 13, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. Attendance at the initiation ceremony is a requirement for full membership.
