DVL TOURNEY Games:
vs. McLouth (12/07) win, 51-37
vs. Horton (12/12) win, 44-28
vs. JCN (12/19 - Championship game) loss, 41-58 for 2nd place
Non-League/Non-Tourney game:
vs. Elwood (12/15) win, 60-24
The girls played Cair Paravel Tuesday night; both JV and Varsity teams were victorious, with the JV girls winning 25-9 and the Varsity girls winning 52-15. JV record is 1-0 and the Varsity record is now 4-1.
Congratulations to the Lady Bears on their wins last night at Jackson Heights; the Varsity girls won, 52-36 and the JV girls won 27-23.
The girls traveled to Doniphan West on Friday night to take on the Lady Mustangs. The JV girls lost 22-27 and the Varsity girls won 57-28; their record is now 6-1.
The Lady Bears hosted the Lady Kaws of Perry-Lecompton last night...the JV girls won 26-22, improving their record to 3-1 and the Varsity girls lost 39-46; their record is now 6-2.
The Lady Bears played Maranatha in the first round of the JCN tournament Tuesday night. The girls won, 56-40 and will now play Perry on Friday night at Winchester at 6:00 P.M. Go Bears!!
The Lady Bears had to settle for 4th place in the JCN Invitational after losing a heartbreaker in the semis against Perry Friday night, 35-37 and then again against ACCHS on Saturday afternoon, 34-44. Hailey Kelly and Haley Pfau were selected to the All-Tournament team.
The high school girls traveled to Immaculata last night to take on the Lady Raiders; the JV girls lost a hard fought battle, 19-22 and the Varsity team won 65-55. Great job, Ladies!
The Lady Bears played the Lady Rams of Pleasant Ridge Friday night; the JV girls lost another hard fought battle, 25-29. The Varsity girls won, 61-23.
The Lady Bears traveled to Valley Falls last night to play the Lady Dragons; again, the JV girls played well but lost another hard fought battle 23-29. The Varsity girls won 52-44. Great job, Ladies!
It was a busy weekend for basketball at Oskaloosa this past weekend. The Lady Bears hosted the Lady Bulldogs of McLouth Friday and the Lady Wildcats of Wathena on Saturday. The Varsity girls lost a heartbreaker to McLouth Friday night 52-56, but recovered Saturday to beat Wathena 65-35. For the JV girls it was the same story but flipped; after a decisive victory against McLouth in a shortened game, winning 17-9, they lost a heartbreaker to Wathena on Saturday, 24-28. The Bears have a busy final week of regular season basketball, playing Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday this week! Go Bears!!
The Lady Bears had a rough night on the road against the Lady Panthers of KCC...both teams fought hard but came up short. The Varsity girls lost 46-54 and the JV girls lost 17-21.
The girls basketball team made it through a busy week and concluded their regular season with games on both Thursday and Friday evenings. On Thursday the Varsity girls played Troy, winning a close one 44-41. On Friday night, both JV and Varsity teams competed, playing Horton; the JV fought hard but came up short, losing 20-24. The Varsity girls won 53-37, ending their regular season with a record of 13-7. The Lady Bears begin substate competition tonight and will be playing Lyndon in the first round here on their home court at 7:00 P.M. Come out and support your Lady Bears!!!
Congratulations to the Lady Bears on their win last night against the Lyndon Lady Tigers in the first round of sub-state. It was a close game from start to finish with the ending score 43-38. The team will now travel to Lebo on Thursday for the semi-final game and will be playing the host-school Lebo for a spot in the sub-state final. Go Bears!
Last night the Lady Bears played Lebo in the semi-finals of the substate.. Unfortunately, the Lady Bears lost to Lebo in a very fast-paced and hard-fought battle. The Lady Bears finished 14-8 for the year. Congratulations Ladies on a great season!
