PLC/Late Start

Professional Learning Communities were implemented into the Oskaloosa schools as of the 2010-2011 school year. This program creates a late start to classes four times a semester on Thursday mornings from 8:10 am to 9:15 am. On these mornings, the studentsʼ first class will not begin until 9:15 am. Breakfast will continue to be served and the buses will run at the normal time.

Students are not required to attend during this time, however, there will be scheduled activities for those who choose to attend. You may also choose to use this time to schedule appointments as it will not interfere with absences and attendance.

The PLC Dates for 2017-18 are: August 24, September 21, November 2, December 7, February 1, March 29, April 12 and May 3.

If you have any questions, please contact the school offices. OES: 785-863-2254 or OJSHS: 785-863-2281

It is the goal of the Oskaloosa Public Schools to host a successful and safe activity. Please do not allow your children to run free. They are welcome to come and go with you, or at half-time and between games. Keeping your children in the stands as spectators makes the activity more enjoyable and safe for everyone involved. Thanks for your cooperation.
