Dear Parents/Guardians:
The placement teams will be meeting soon to create class assignments for
students entering kindergarten through sixth grades for the 2008-2009 school
year. The placement procedure is a
very involved and thoughtful process. Factors we consider for placement include
academic performance, achievement, gender, as well as social and personality
factors.
Because we do appreciate your input regarding your childŐs strengths and
weaknesses, we have developed a form that asks for specific strengths and
concerns that you would like us to consider when organizing classrooms for next
year. This form is available in the OES office and must be returned to the
office by Monday, April 28th.
Finally, it is important to note that class placement provided to you in
the early summer is only a tentative placement. There are many factors over the
summer and during August enrollment that may cause your childŐs placement to
change if a classroom becomes Ňoverbalanced.Ó However, we will do everything in
our power to limit these late changes.
We are committed to providing the most appropriate placement for every
child and thank you for your continued support.
