General Music

Students in Second Grade through Sixth Grade receive music instruction three times each week. Students in Kindergarten and First Grade work on their music skills twice each week and the VIP (Preschool) Students visit the Music Room once each week. Class periods are 25 minutes with the exception of VIP which meets for 15 minutes.

Activities in the Music Room focus on singing and playing instruments, however, students also explore music history, learn to read and notate music and even try their hand at composition. The curriculum was designed to address the National Standards for Music Education which correlate to the Kansas Standards for Music Education.
