Positive Behavior Support System

This school year the Oskaloosa Elementary is focusing on Positive Behavior Support.  To do this, the elementary teachers are focusing on five key words to help improve the behavior of all elementary students. These five key words make up “Bear Pride.  Bear Pride includes respect, communication, responsibility, engaged in learning, and empathy.
During the first six weeks of school, teachers will be discussing and demonstrating the meaning of each key word that make up “Bear Pride”.  Then throughout the school year new words will be introduced that are also related to character building. Students will earn Bear Pride bucks when they demonstrate knowledge of these words through their actions and behaviors in the classroom/gym, on the playground, in the hallways, on the bus, in the cafeteria, at restroom breaks, in specials, and at assemblies.  Help reinforce these positive behaviors at home and in the community.

Thank you,
Oskaloosa Elementary
